Pickld Pepper is designed to work on your own devices. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.
Data we collect
Pickld Pepper does not collect any personal data. There is no account system, no sign-in, no analytics SDK, no advertising, no crash reporter and no third-party libraries of any kind. We cannot see your data and we receive nothing from the app.
The information you enter — sessions, matches, game scores, opponent and partner names, format, indoor or outdoor, matchup and effort ratings — is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework, and, if you leave iCloud sync enabled, in your own private iCloud account.
Health data
If you record a session with a paired Apple Watch, the app starts a pickleball workout. While that workout is running it reads your heart rate and active calories from Apple Health, and when the session ends it saves the workout — its duration, heart rate and calories, indoor or outdoor — back to Apple Health on your device.
Health data is never transmitted anywhere. It is not sent to us, not shared with anyone, and deliberately excluded from iCloud sync: the measured values stay only on the device that recorded them and in your Apple Health store. Your Health data is governed by Apple's own privacy protections, and you can revoke the app's Health permissions at any time in the Health app or in iOS Settings.
iCloud sync
If you leave iCloud sync enabled, your match history — sessions, matches, games, opponents and partners — is synced between your iPhones using Apple's CloudKit framework. This data lives in your personal iCloud account and is governed by Apple's iCloud Privacy Policy. We have no access to your iCloud data.
Heart rate, calories and workout summaries are stored in a separate local database that is never synced, on any platform. The Apple Watch app does not use iCloud at all; it exchanges data only with your paired iPhone.
Apple Watch
Your iPhone and Apple Watch exchange session and score data directly with each other using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. That exchange happens between your own two devices and does not pass through any server of ours.
Camera, location and contacts
Pickld Pepper does not request access to your camera, microphone, photos, contacts or location, and has no code that uses them.
Third parties
The app contains no third-party SDKs, advertising networks, crash reporters or analytics tools. No data is ever shared with or sold to any third party.
Your control over your data
You can export all of your matches as a CSV file, and delete all of your data, from the Profile tab at any time. Deleting the app removes its local data from that device; data already synced to your iCloud account can be removed in iOS Settings under your Apple Account.
Children
Pickld Pepper does not knowingly collect data from children under 13 and has no mechanism to do so.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. Significant changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
